As I mentioned in my opening article about BBY Kodie in January, he’s going to be one of Houston’s most vital acts to come out of the city in the past decade. The humorous flow that he delivers over the Jigg-influence instrumentation has gained him footing with creating a signature sound, but this time around it’s only getting better.

Coming off the “Teen Icon” project, he sets up fans for his new body of work that’s getting put together called “HollyWorld'“. The first installations of that comes from his new tracks “7 AM” and “Benz”. Both records follow the same patterns that the songs featured before on his project, but the levels of his lyricism is increasing. Given the rollercoaster ride him and his friends have gone through this past year, he expounds on turning down deals, creating more elaborate hooks, and ultimately tapping into his ascending creative suite in his sound and image. This progression is happily scary, but it also lets listeners know that he’s surely on the right track of achieving stardom soon.
