Just recently getting put on to MoneyMarr by my friend, and owner of Modern Life Magazine, Greg Harris, I have to say I’m very impressed by what I’ve been able to hear thus far. Reigning from Washington D.C., MoneyMarr has recently been making quite a name for himself for himself in the DMV music scene. In a recent interview with “MusicOnTheDot” MoneyMarr recounts his career really starting to take off after dropping the visual to “Crunch Time” with popular artist Baby 9eno. With the ball starting to roll for the artist, MoneyMarr ended off the summer by dropping his project “Draco Vibes 2”.

For those of you that don’t know, the artist claims to be the “youngest trapper”, highlighting this in his song “Speaking Facts”, featuring popular North Carolina artist Stunna 4 Vegas. The album features a variety of different types of beats, including those with slower-tempo, more melodic vibrancies, and then those with faster-tempo, drill type beats. While Marr is able to provide a more vulnerable vignette of DMV life as a trapper, recounting in “Speaking Facts”, “I be off percocets, yeah them hammers. Slide on his block, ni**a we bout to blam him”, he’s also able to express his cunning lyrical abilities- this based off of the same lyrics.

Personally, my favorite track off the album is “Pablo and Chapo”. The beat on the song feels like a mix of hispanic/jazz music and features and an even harder hook, Marr starting the song out with “imma sit here and let ni**as think they acan make me their lick, i’m the youngest of trappers and I still walk around with a sack and I keep me a stick”.

Already receiving co-signs from a plethora of celebrities, including A$AP Bari & Kevin Gates, it seems likely that the buzzing DMV artist may very well soon become a common household name in the mainstream music scene.
