To celebrate the opening of Nipsey Hussle’s “The Marathon Tour” along with his birthday which is August 15, the artist chose Houston, the best city of them all, and Warehouse Live to kick off his extravaganza of live shows and after-party celebrations on August 11.

All night the crowd waited anxiously to see Nipsey hit the stage. Once he stepped on stage, all the brightly-lit phones came up and the glows from the flashes shone on him as the crowd cheered for him. Starting the show off with “One Hunnit” everyone was singing along. You know your fans do keep it 100 when they’re singing your songs word for word.

He went on to delight the crowd with some of the fans requests such as “Fuck Donald Trump,”“Picture Me Rolling,” “Keys To The City” and many others. It is no doubt that Nipsey is one of the greatest artists from the West Coast. Every song he played was sung along to by the fans, especially when he played “Ain’t Hard Enough,” “Checc Me Out,” “U See Us,” “1of1” and “Killa.” Okay okay, that is a handful of songs, but seriously, the crowd was jumping to every one of them.

When in Houston you know a legend has to come in contact with another legend. The Great brought out The Truth — Trae Tha Truth, who sang “Swang” acapella and of course, all of Warehouse Live started singing along to the anthem as well. Another Houston special guest that joined Nipsey Hussle on stage was Kirko Bangz, performing “Down As A Great” for the first time. It was only right to do it in H-Town.

Houston sure did enjoy having this legend come out and put out a fantastic show. It is always fun to see the fans with smiles on their faces, recording the artist and singing their hearts out, throwing their hands up, and dancing around to every song being played. The fans had a hell of a good time, and I’m pretty sure Nipsey did as well as the after party moved to Dreams. There is another tour coming up, “Victory Lap Tour,” that will be nationwide. If you missed out on this show, maybe you will be able to catch him at the next one, just maybe.
